a moment's folly,

Out of the recesses of my convoluted mind
I rise with my distinctly Asian hair
I eat books like air.

So this is how I’m going to sum Camp One Oh Nine up in a single paragraph: my faith is not one that is based on rules and religion, not one based on hype, not one based on fear but one that is based on a strong personal conviction that God is real and that His presence is physical, tangible, within our grasp and once you grasp it, there’s no turning back because it floods the room, chokes up your breath yet you feel like you’re taking a deep breath of fresh, clean air, causes your heart to beat wildly while filling you up with a peace that transcends every circumstance, every external distraction, every thought and every worry. The kind of peace that just wipes your heart clean, overflows and makes you want to scream and jump because it’s almost unnerving how the world seems to disappear right before your very eyes. It consumes the world and stands in its place. And that His love heals, transforms, inspires, encourages, protects, breaks down elaborate masks, restores, pacifies, impassions, emboldens, sets hearts on fire. It makes you dance like an idiot, just like King David did. It makes you break out in laughter because of the joy that entails. It makes you cry out for more, no matter how much it overflows you can’t ever seem to get enough. It gives you a voice you never knew you had. It changes you. God completely defies what humans call logic. This is my God. And He rocked up at Camp One Oh Nine.
